What is The Pastoral Healthcare Network?

The Pastoral Healthcare Network is an organisation of people devoted to combining their medical expertise and faith-inspired compassion to the activity/ ministry of  God centred holistic healing.

They each offer a unique and effective combination of medical know-how with prayer-filled empathy – the most effective medicine of all!

This  service  is extended to everyone in the community and in particular to those who may fall through the gaps.

Pastoral/ Parish Nursing Ministry

A parish nurse is a registered nurse with specialized knowledge, who is called to ministry and affirmed by a faith community to promote health, healing and wholeness.

In order to practice safely and effectively in health ministry, the parish nurse should be able to demonstrate competence in a defined set of attitudes, knowledge and skills.

Conference – Promoting Mental Health

PHNA holiday opening times

The Geelong PHNA centre will clos on Dec 18th 2009 and reopen on January 11th 2010.

Holiday opening hours will be Mon, Tues, Wed Closed ,Thurs,Fr 10.00am – 12.30pm.

2009 Training Course & Conference a great success

December 19th, 2009

Delgates from 3 states attended our annual conference and traing days November and 5 new Pastoral Nurses received their badges from Training coordinator JoVeta Wescott visiting from Wichita , Kansas.

Two other guest presenters from the USA presented papers at the events and all were inspired by their educational offerings.

PHNA Geelong centre opens

December 19th, 2009

A  wonderful Pastoral healthcare network centre opened its doors in Geelong west on October 19th.

The centre has been in operation 3 days per week and is fully staffed by volunteers.

We have had a steady stream of people access our services and many very positive comments in our Visitors book.
